This evening is Christmas Eve.
Tonight, in places throughout the Christian world we will tell the story of how Mary and Joseph came to Bethlehem to be counted in the census, how there was no room for them in the Inn, how the baby was born and laid in a manger, how the shepherds were told of the birth by angels.
Over the advent season we have lighted candles for HOPE< JOY< LOVE and PEACE. Tonight we light the final candle to celebrate the coming of Christ into the world.
The story of Christ’s birth is entwined with twinkling trees and the giving of gifts as we celebrate the traditions we share on Christmas day.
Remember to pause in our celebrations to remember the gift of Gods Son and give thanks.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
